The Odds Are Great: Job Fair 2008
FAQ's for Employers
- When and where is this year's job fair?
The 17th annual Job Fair entitled "The Odds Are Great: Job Fair 2008" is scheduled for Thursday, April
10, 2008 from
12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event is held in the Illinois
Valley Community College Gymnasium on IVCC's main campus, 815 North Orlando
Smith Ave.
- How can I register for the job fair?
If you have not yet received a registration form by mail, please contact
IVCC's Career Services Office at 815/224-0502 or fill out
on-line
registration form. We would like to have registrations complete
by February 29, 2008, so please contact us as soon as possible.
- What does the registration fee cover?
The registration fee covers all advertisements regarding the job fair to
assure the public is aware of this great opportunity to meet you. You
have the chance to promote your company on a local radio station during
a live two hour broadcast from the Job Fair. Employer lunch is provided
at 11:30 a.m. and snacks are offered to each employer at 4:00 p.m.
-
What did last year's job fair look like?
In 2007 there were over 600 job seekers and 75 employers who
participated.
-
What should we bring to the job fair?
IVCC provides one six foot table, two chairs and a white tablecloth. You should bring
promotional items and information about your company. Electrical
availability is limited and you may not have access to an electrical supply.
Please check with the Career Services office if you have
additional questions.
- How can we hang a banner?
If you are assigned a space near a bleacher or wall, you may be able to hang
a sign or banner. Employers from previous years suggest that you bring
an adhesive that is fairly new to the market called COMMAND. This
adhesive applies quickly - and is pulled off with a pull of a tab, leaving
no damage to walls or surfaces.
