Illinois Valley Community College opened in 1924 as LaSalle-Peru-Oglesby Junior College on the campus of LaSalle-Peru Township High School.  Over 85 years later, IVCC continues its vision of leading the community in learning, working and growing:

  • 1966 ... LPO becomes Illinois Valley Community College
  • 1968 ... Classes are held at 12 temporary buildings across the river west of Oglesby
  • 1972 ... Permanent campus dedicated
  • 1980 ... Cultural Centre added to the main campus
  • 2010 ... Ottawa Center opens to better serve the eastern half of the district
  • The Peter Miller Community Technology Center is scheduled to open on main campus early 2014
