Learn what an app is and how to get them. You will also learn how to organize and customize your device to suit your lifestyle. There’s a lot to love about the iPad.

Facebook 101 [Part 1]
Are you interested in social networking, but do not know where to begin? Are you ready to take the plunge? In this class, students will learn what Facebook is and how it works, create a Facebook profile, and get hands-on experience. A discussion on the pros and cons of Facebook use will be covered along with exploring security and privacy issues.

Facebook 101 [Part 2]
Your Facebook profile has been completed and privacy issues explored. So what’s next? In this class, students will learn how to find and add friends, create Groups, send and receive messages, share posts on your timeline and navigate your way around your News Feed. You will also be shown how to upload and share pictures and set the privacy level for those pictures.

Photoshop CS 6 Introduction
Get creative with all those digital pictures you have been taking and storing! Start retouching and enhancing your digital images with Adobe Photoshop. Through hands-on experience, learn to use some of the powerful tools to edit your photos and images. Class will start with basic skills then add more special techniques like changing the contrast and balance, blurring or re-coloring portions of the photo and correcting defects. Class will be taught on a Macintosh Computer. Please bring a 2GB flash drive to class loaded with 25-30 of your favorite photographs. Students will also be responsible for printing fees, which will be determined on an as used basis.

Introduction to Shutterfly
Explore the features of Shutterfly and learn to do more with your digital photos. Learn how to upload, organize and share your digital photos with friends, family and social media. Create digital scrapbooks and photo gifts that can be delivered to your doorstep or picked up at a local store. Sample images will be provided the first night of class. You will be creating Shutterfly accounts in class. If you already have a Shutterfly account, please bring your login and password with you to class. Students should have knowledge of moving photos from their camera to a computer.

Photographing Wildflowers in the Woodlands
Attention nature and photography lovers! Join freelance photographer David Anderson for a morning presentation of his photographs of the beautiful wildflowers found at Starved Rock State Park. Learn how to photograph and identify the various species and find out where and when they can be found. In the afternoon, you’ll meet at Starved Rock where David will lead you on a nature hike to view, identify, and photograph wildflowers. Students will provide their own transportation to Starved Rock. Course fee includes a pocket wildflower guide book, please bring your camera, hiking boots, water and a sack lunch.
