Mary has been offering therapeutic massage and bodywork since 2005. As a Registered Nurse Mary’s background in community health, along with oncology nursing experience, allows her to embrace the best of both worlds by offering education, nurturance, support and healing to those she serves. Her practice offers restorative, comfort-oriented massage along with Eastern bodywork, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and scar tissue work.
Mary is a frequent guest speaker and presenter on a variety of health related topics especially massage education. She graduated from the Peregrine Institute of Oncology Massage.
Massage for People Living with Cancer
Oncology massage is at the forefront of complementary modalities used to comfort and heal those who are experiencing cancer treatment or are in survivorship. With an ever-increasing prevalence of cancer in all age groups it is certain that people living with cancer will find their way to your tables. The purpose of this class is to present essential information and provide the necessary hands-on experience to safely and effectively administer massage to any client regardless of their condition. The culminating activity of the class will be to give a relaxation massage to someone with a history of cancer. Please bring your lunch, snacks, a clean set of sheets for the table, and dress comfortably. Class size is limited. Registration deadline is March 28th. This class is for licensed massage therapists only and has been approved by the NCBTMB and the State of IL for 24 CE hours.

Massage Cupping Bodywork Therapy
Massage Cupping is a beneficial therapy for bringing blood flow to stagnated muscles and skin, loosening adhesions, and releasing rigid soft tissue. In this class, the history and theory of massage cupping will be covered in addition to step by step instruction on getting started. All equipment will be demonstrated and each participant will have ample time to experience working with the equipment on others and having the equipment used on them. Equipment used and demonstrated will be glass fire cups, manual vacuum cups, micro cup sets and several other specific aspects of cupping. We will
also explore advanced cupping techniques, with focus on specific treatment methods. This is an experiential workshop and attendees are asked to wear comfortable clothing, bring lunch, a clean set of sheets for the massage table, and if you have a set of cups, please bring those also. There will be cups available to use if needed. Class size is limited. This class is for licensed massage therapists only and has been approved by NCBTMB and the State of IL for 7 CE hours.

Incorporating Stretching into Massage Therapy
Stretching can be a very important part of massage therapy. In this workshop, various types of stretching will be presented for use during and after a massage therapy session. Specific material will include: types of stretching - Dynamic; Static; PNF and Pin. Students will learn stretch techniques, and determine when stretching is appropriate for use with the client. Class will be primarily hands-on. Please bring your lunch, snacks, a clean set of sheets for the table, and dress comfortably. Aromatherapy for Health and Well-Being
This workshop is designed for health professionals and will focus on the clinical and therapeutic uses of aromatherapy. Learn the pharmacological, physiological, and psychological effects of aromatherapy. Practical application for healing, emotional balancing, and stress reduction are demonstrated. Participants will learn a wide variety of techniques for utilizing essential oil preparations. This class has been approved by the State of IL for 6 CE hours.

In the last hundred years, thousands of unresearched chemicals have been introduced into our food, water, and medicine. Toxicity load is deteriorating our health and quality of life. This course will examine how common ingredients and chemicals are sabotaging our bodies. More importantly, we will explore many ways to minimize our exposure, detoxify our bodies, and replace common personal care products with natural, non-toxic ingredients. This course will examine how common chemicals are sabotaging our homes and work environments. We will identify sources of indoor pollution as
well as dangerous mixtures and reactions of household chemicals. Learn ways to minimize your exposure and replace common cleaning products with natural, non-toxic ingredients. This class has been approved by the State of IL for 3 CE hours.
