Managing Your Digital Photos
Do you have all these pictures on your memory card and don’t know what to do with them after you have printed a few? Learn what to do with all those digital photos you have taken over the years. Students will learn how to transfer photos from cameras to computers, how to store, organize, retrieve, resize and email photos. Students will learn basic resizing/photo editing. Students will learn about online services for storing photos, sharing and printing photos, free photo editing software, storage programs, photo album programs and more. This class will be taught in a Mac Lab, however software and online programs used are compatible to PC use.
Students will need a digital camera, memory card, camera cords/or a card reader to put pictures on the computer, and a USB flash drive.

Basic Digital Photography [For Beginners]
This class is for students who would like to learn basic photography techniques to enhance their digital picture taking skills. Familiarity with camera and computer along with internet will be needed. Camera features, functions, and settings will be discussed. Advice on getting the ‘most’ from your camera will be given. Photographic composition, close-ups, along with explanations for retrieving and storing photos will be discussed. A portion of this class will include actually taking pictures that will be brought back to the classroom to be worked on. Students will need a digital camera and owners’ manual (if possible), a full battery, camera cords/or card reader, and a memory card or USB flash drive.

Photographing Wildflowers in the Woodlands
Attention nature and photography lovers! Join freelance photographer David Anderson for a morning presentation of his photographs of the beautiful wildflowers found at Starved Rock State Park. Learn to identify the various species and find out where and when they can be found. In the afternoon, you’ll meet at Starved Rock where David will lead you on a nature hike to view, identify, and photograph wildflowers. Students will provide their own transportation to Starved Rock. Course fee includes a pocket wildflower guide book. Please bring your camera, hiking boots, water and a sack lunch.
