The Interactive Lecture
In classrooms across the country, teachers work hard to prepare
solid lectures on course content. All too often, early into the lecture,
the student tunes out or turns off. The new Interactive Lecture Model
strives to engage students throughout the lecture, using a variety of
tools to hook the brain, teach the content, and foster retention. Susan
Goodale will provide more than a dozen ways to make a classroom
lecture an interactive experience, for both educators and students, for
deep learning and long-term retention. Teachers will receive 3 CPDUs
for successful completion of this class.

Welcome to the Flipped Classroom!
Teachers around the country are turning their classrooms upside
down, or more precisely, flipping their classrooms. One school district
in central Illinois has made the flipped classroom the model for their
entire high school. The flipped classroom is one in which teacher
lecture is viewed at home or after school via computer, and what
would be considered “homework” in a traditional sense, takes place
the next day in the classroom. No longer are students “glazed over”,
disengaged, or inattentive. Instead, they are immersed in hands-on
active and experiential learning. Susan Goodale presents the basic
philosophy, research, steps, and resources necessary to go home and
flip your classroom for one day, a week, or an entire school year.
Teachers will receive 3 CPDUs for successful completion of this class.
