Ch. 5 The Skeletal System

Do you know...

  2. Bones that belong to the axial skeleton and the appendicular skeleton?
  3. The differences between compact and spongy bone?
  4. How to classify bones according to shape (naming specific examples)?
  5. The following parts of a long bone:  articular cartilage, epiphysis, diaphysis, periosteum, endosteum, medullary cavity?
  6. The differences between red bone marrow and yellow bone marrow and their functions?
  7. The differences between an infant and adult's skeleton?
  8. The differences between a man and woman's bones?
  9. The difference between a compound and simple fracture?
  10. What a greenstick fracture is?
  11. The cause of Osteoporosis and Rickets and who is most susceptible?
  12. How to classify joints based on degree of movement allowed (synarthrosis, amphiarthrosis, and diarthrosis)?
  13. What arthritis is?
  14. How to identify the bones on your checklist (from the web page) attached to the skeleton AND those that may be unattached (disarticulated) on your test?
