CAD Degree and Certificate
This degree is designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of Computer Aided Engineering and Design. It does not concentrate on one method of CAD but instead exposes the students to many CAD environments to broaden their job marketability.
Courses of study
2D CAD (Computer Aided Drafting)
3D Solid Modeling
Rapid Prototyping (3D Printing)
Engineering Design Concepts
Manufacturing and Electronics Concepts
Graduates are prepared to:
Create a graphical representation of a new product.
Using computer design programs, drafters sketch the object from multiple views.
Create drawings to show builders or manufacturers how a project/building should be constructed.
Transfer – BS in Technology degree option with NIU
IVCC has partnered with Northern Illinois University to offer students the option to complete a Bachelor of Science in Applied Manufacturing Technology degree. This unique partnership allows students who complete their AAS in CAD to take 30 additional credit hours at IVCC (NIU general education and BS prerequisite courses) and complete 10 additional courses with NIU either ONLINE or on the NIU campus in DeKalb. For more information see the links below and see an IVCC counselor.
Rapid Prototyping (3D Printing) is just one of the cutting edge technologies you will learn while enrolled in IVCC's CAD Program.
