Biographical Information:
1951: Born in St. Louis, Missouri;
Interests are in music, chemistry, presidential history, and space exploration.
1973: Received the Bachelor of Music Education degree from
the University of North Texas
1976: Received the Master of Music degree from Emporia (Kansas) State
University
1976-1981: Percussionist with the United States Air Force Strategic Air
Command Band at Offutt Air Force Base;
Omaha, Nebraska
Summers 1984 - 1993: Attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and Northwestern University to take physics, chemistry, and chemical education classes.
1998-1999: Staff Scientist with an environmental consulting firm located in Indianapolis, IN performing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and Asbestos Testing
2000: Received the Masters of Science degree in Environmental Science from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University - Bloomington with an emphasis in environmental chemistry.
2000-2005: Chemistry and Physical Science teacher at Serena High School
2001-present: Chemistry/Physics lab instructor at Illinois Valley Community College. Teach summer course: Chem 1007. Was selected the 2004-2005 Teacher of the Year at IVCC.
I have taught students in the areas of instrumental music, chemistry, and physics for twenty-three years in the public schools of Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois. I also work part-time for an environmental consulting firm located in Northbrook, Illinois.
