Thursday hours are offered during fall and spring semesters. During the summer months, the Assessment Center in Ottawa has hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
All tests must be taken during Assessment Center hours. At the Ottawa Center, students are required to make an appointment for all testing.
Please plan your testing times appropriately. No tests will be given/started within one hour of closing time at either center.
Call the Assessment Center at (815) 224-0542 to schedule your placement testing appointment. An appointment is required to take the placement test. Please bring a photo ID with you, and arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled testing time. Testers arriving late will not be admitted to the testing session. No calculators or other resources are permitted during testing.
Placement testing is offered at the Ottawa Center. Please call (815) 224-0542 to schedule your testing time and indicate that you wish to test at the Ottawa Center.
Students are tested in the subject areas of Reading, English, Math and Computer Skills. Most students spend approximately 2 to 3 hours testing. However, because the test is untimed, it will vary by individual.

ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION
Certain tests administered by IVCC Assessment Center may require a specific form of ID in order to take the exam. Acceptable forms of ID will need to have student's first and last name, be valid, and have individual's picture. There are no exceptions to this policy. Those without identification will not be permitted to test. Reproductions or photocopies of identification will not be accepted.

Pearson Vue Testing* Registration and scheduling for Pearson Vue testing can be done online through the testing service websites
Students must sign in and show a photo ID before testing.
An appointment is required for CLEP tests, telecourse, online, and other university course tests.
An appointment for a make-up test is strongly advised.
Tests cannot be started within one hour of closing.
Students should come to the Assessment Center knowing the name of their instructor and class.
Academic Integrity is expected of all students. Students are encouraged to review the Student Code of Conduct in the Student Handbook.
All electronic devices must be turned off while students are testing.
Special accommodations are available for placement and make-up tests. Arrangements must be made in advance. Please contact the Disability Services office at (815) 224-0284 for more information.
Coats and bags are not allowed into testing rooms.
- Children are not allowed into any testing area or to be left unsupervised while individuals are testing.
