 ADV & SAS

A Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Service

IVCC Hotline 815-224-0484

In October 2005, IVCC in conjunction with ADV & SAS was awarded a two-year grant from the Department of Justice, Office of Violence Against Women in order to create a Coordinated Campus and Community Response to Violence Against Women on campus.  The grant addresses the issues of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking and has six primary goals:

  1. Create a Coordinated Campus and Community Response Team (CCCRT)
  2. Strengthen Victim Services
  3. Provide Mandatory Prevention Education for Incoming Students
  4. Train Campus Police, First Responders, etc.
  5. Train Campus Disciplinary Unit
  6. Create a Data System

Through this grant ADV & SAS was able to expand already existing services on campus making them available to all individuals dealing with these issues.

ADV & SAS offers a safe atmosphere where survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence can find support, resources, and strength.  With outreach locations in Ottawa, Streator, Pontiac, and IVCC, our counselors and advocates can help members of the campus community to sort out feelings and discuss options.  ADV & SAS provides:

  • Safe Shelter
  • Counseling
  • Prevention Education
  • Court Advocacy
  • 24-hour Hospital Response
  • A 24-hour Crisis Line
  • Confidentiality

All services are free of charge.  The 24-hour crisis line number is
1-800-892-3375.
