Our Mission Statement:
The Adult Education program at Illinois Valley Community College provides a partnership within the community to teach and guide a diverse population of adult learners as they identify and reach their personal goals.

Adult Basic Education – ABE: Classes to improve reading, math and writing skills. 

English as a Second Language – ESL: Designed to help non-native speakers of the English language who reside within the district. 

General Educational Development – GED: Any adult 16 or older who hasn’t received a high school diploma or GED certificate.

GED Test: The GED test is given on a monthly basis at Illinois Valley Community College.

I-READ Literacy Program: One-on-one tutoring or small group tutoring for students 16 or older who are out of school and need to improve language or math skills. Click here for more info on becoming a volunteer!

Adult Education Program Partnerships:  Adult Education partners with local area agencies and programs to bring a variety of services to IVCC district residents and students.

 

2007 GED Graduation

Each year, the Adult Education program at IVCC holds a graduation ceremony for GED graduates, family and friends.
