APC Minutes

MISSION OF THE AREA PLANNING COUNCIL (APC) 

APC's are established within the boundaries of each community college district.  The APC pledges to serve the eligible population, which includes adults who are 16 years of age or older, not enrolled or required to be enrolled under state law in a secondary school and who:

a.  lack sufficient mastery of basic educational skills to be able to function effectively in society

b.  do not have a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent

c.  are unable to speak, read, or write the English language

PURPOSE OF THE AREA PLAN

1. Identify services currently being offered to the identified population

2.  Produce a plan for the continuation of identified services

3.  Identify gaps within the service area including:

     a. populations not being served

     b. instructional services not being offered

     c. support services not being offered

     d. geographic locations within the APC boundaries without
        service

4.  Identify possible reasons for these gaps in service area

5.  Produce a plan for covering the identified service area gaps
