Getting ready for Graduation in May 2008??
Effective Spring 2008, report cards will no longer be mailed to all students. If you want to request a mailed report card, follow the link. Be sure to read the information and download the form. Mail or bring them in to the Records Office. Forms are also available in the Records Office, Counseling Center, and on the East Campus.
This is information about the privacy of student records and the rights and responsibilities of the students regarding their educational records.
This is for students who are requesting an official IVCC transcript to be sent to another institution. There is a limit of 5 transcripts per request.
This link provides information for students who will be transferring credits from another college or university.
Grade Exclusion
The purpose of the grade exclusion policy is to provide the mature student an opportunity to achieve his/her educational objective without the demoting effects of previously earned failing grades. To be eligible for consideration under this policy, a student must meet the following criteria:
1. He/she cannot have attended any post-secondary educational institution for two consecutive semesters. (Summer sessions are not counted as semesters for this policy, but three consecutive academic quarters are considered the equivalent of two semesters.)
2. Upon returning to IVCC after the two consecutive stop-out semesters, he/she must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours with a grade point average of 2.0 or better.
3. Upon satisfying criterion 2, the student must apply to the Records Analyst in the Admissions and Records Office for implementation of the grade exclusion policy.
Explanatory note: Only Failing (F or WF) grades will be excluded from the computation of the cumulative GPA under this policy. If the student wishes to repeat some courses in which failing grades were received, he/she may utilize the college repeat policy for those courses by completing the appropriate form in the Office of Admissions and Records.
*Students planning to transfer to another institution are cautioned that the receiving college may use all grades earned in repeated or excluded courses for computation of GPA for admission or other purposes.
Understanding Credit Hours
College credit hours are earned by students when they spend hours learning a skill or a specific body of knowledge. At IVCC, credit hours are assigned to each course when it is developed. One credit hour is equal to one 50 minute class "hour" per week for lecture course over a sixteen week semester. The number of credit hours assigned to a course and required for student attendance are equated, based on the length and method(s) of the course. Credit hours equivalents vary for different kinds of methods (lecture, lab, field experience, etc.). All courses, including assigned credit hours, are approved by the Illinois Community College Board.
Graduation Photography Preregistration Email Link is Available Today!
In an effort to inform the parents of graduates about photos at the upcoming ceremony, Josten's has developed a cool new preregistration system which allows the graduates and/or their parents to provide their email and mailing address information to Chappell prior to the ceremony. You can add up to 6 family members' contact information as well to help share the good news and the photos!
Your Graduates can preregister their email, friends and family email addresses and Graduation Images will contact them just as soon as their photos are available for online viewing and ordering.
To preregister, use this link.
