Orientation Information
One of the key tasks when starting a new school is to learn about the different opportunities available! We offer a variety of ways to help you learn all about IVCC and get acquainted to your new surroundings.
Fall and Spring Preview
Preview allows students to learn about a wide variety of services and organizations available on campus, attend seminars on topics important for incoming students, locate their classrooms, get their student ID, and purchase their books for classes.

No reservations are necessary for Preview sessions!
Evening Orientation
Each semester, we will be offering a New Student Information Table to provide new evening students with information they need as they get started at IVCC. The table will be in the main lobby area on during the first week of evening classes from 5:00 PM - 6:45 PM.
Strategies for College
Our Strategies for College courses help you to develop the skills you need to be successful in college and in life. At this time, Strategies for College (SFC 1000) courses are required for the Nursing Program and Therapeutic Massage Program, but it is a great course for all new students! This course focuses on student services available at IVCC, library and campus orientation, time management, study and test-taking techniques, communication skills, and personal issues that affect college students.
In order to make this course user-friendly for our wide variety of students, it is offered in a variety of different ways including 16-week class, 8-week class, telecourse (web-enhanced), on-line, and it is also offered at some area high schools as well. There are also specialized sections for nursing students, women in transition, and athletes.
