1. Where can I find general information?
For more general information, please visit the College’s online catalog at catalog.ivcc.edu and utilize the search function or quicklinks.
2. When will the Summer session begin?
June 10. IVCC will offer one eight-week session Wednesday, June 10 to Thursday, Aug. 6.
Summer A has been eliminated in favor of the one, comprehensive session to allow students ample time to meet with a counselor, register and get books. Summer A courses have been moved into the June 10 Summer B session.
3. I registered for Summer and/or Fall classes earlier this Spring. Am I still registered?
You are still registered. We have not dropped students from classes.
4. Do we know what classes at IVCC will be like in the Fall?
The College has formed a team of individuals that have been meeting regularly to work through this while remaining in-step with direction provided by the Governor’s Office, local health department professionals, and the Illinois Community College Board. Our hope is we are able to reach one of the Governor’s acceptable phases and thus safely allow a combination of online/in-person learning opportunities.
What do I do if I am registered for CSP-0002 Orientation to Distance Learning for the summer term?
CSP-0002 started on May 20, 2020. If you are enrolled and you see CSP-0002 in your Blackboard courses, you may work on completing the course. If you recently enrolled, there may be a delay in getting you access to the course in Blackboard. Stay tuned to updates from IVCC indicating when Blackboard access is fully restored for newly enrolled students. We may be able to help you with accessing your IVCC email and Blackboard accounts in the meantime. Call the Student Help Desk at 815-224-0318 for assistance.
The end date for CSP-0002 section 101 and section 599 has been extended. IVCC personnel will work with all students in CSP-0002 to ensure they get oriented to online learning and are able to successfully complete the required orientation class.
5. When is the payment deadline for Summer classes?
Payment deadline has been extended until Wednesday, June 10. Contact the cashier’s office at (815) 224-0213 for information. Payment plan options are expected to be restored soon.
6. How can I talk with an IVCC Counselor about classes?
Once counselors are able to advise students, they will work through students enrolling in Summer semester classes first. Then, counselors will move on to students enrolling in Fall semester classes.
Students will be able to reach the Counseling Center at 815-224-0360.
7. How can I request my transcript/view my grades?
Transcripts and grade viewing are currently unavailable. We will process transcript requests as soon as the system is restored. If you haven't yet, you can request a transcript by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. He will then send you a transcript request form via email to fill out.
8. How can I contact the Financial Aid Department?
The Financial Aid Department can be contacted at 815-224-0438 or email@example.com.
9. Is financial aid available for summer?
Yes, for eligible students. Contact Financial Aid Director Eric Johnson at (815) 224-0440.
10. If I need to, how can I take a Placement Exam? The Assessment Center may not be up and running for face-to-face testing until at least the second week of June. If students need to have placement testing virtually proctored, students should contact the Assessment Center at 815-224-0552 in order to create a testing voucher.
The information needed to create the voucher can be found below:
- Student First/Last name
- Student IVCC ID number
- Student date of birth
- Student email address
- Student phone number
- Areas of testing

11. How do I purchase textbooks for Summer classes?
While the IVCC Bookstore is closed to in-person visits from students and the public until July 6, books and course materials can be purchased online at www.ivccbookstore.com.
All orders are shipped free to student homes. The website allows students to comparison shop for pricing.
Call the bookstore at (815) 224-0311 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and, if necessary, leave a message including your course number(s) and section(s). We will return your call. Orders cannot be placed by phone.
Financial Aid book vouchers
Please work with your financial aid representative to obtain a voucher.
