HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
Celebrate Our Diversity
There are so many Independence Day celebrations in the Central American nations that the entire month from September 15 through October 15th has been designated as Hispanic Heritage Month. In the United States, it culminates with a celebration of <El día de la raza>, or <The Day of the People>. Unlike "Columbus Day", which focuses attention on the explorer who landed on the island of Hispañola in 1492, El día de la raza honors the rich and diverse heritage of all the people of the Americas.
